Sarah Kane’s Phaedra’s Love can be described as a prominent play written in chaotic time since it narrates the story of violence and power reflecting dark background society. She makes readers aware social corruption through in-yer-face theatre. It addresses most primitive instinct humanity (violence), to constitute an atmosphere which audience faces grim realities life. Kane distinguishes herself from previous playwrights by presenting realities. The writer also assigns significant roles characters deal with problems they have, make their own choice bringing about violence, committing suicide, rape. From this angle, is possible analyse Foucauldian approach concentrating on relationship between power. Therefore, study aims examine concept applying sensational play, Love.
